Introduction

I haven't had a blog since I was in high school in 2003, when I had a Xanga... so this is weird.

I decided to make this site for several reasons, but the primary reason is this: There are very few resources online for anyone who wants to use vacuum tubes for anything other than guitar amps. In fact, it is almost impossible to find anyone who is openly sharing any information in this regard. The few sites that one may find that share information on this subject are long-winded, poorly explained, and have diagrams that are really difficult to decipher (at least to me).

I realize that the audience for this is extremely niche. I am also dabbling in solid state electronics, and will share that stuff too - although don't even think about asking me to dick around with Arduino, or microcontrollers or coding. I hate that crap. It's way out of my purview or whatever. I can copy and paste code, but I can hardly figure out what the hell it does or why.

I'm just another dumb hobbyist with an internet connection, in the end (and also a book collection). I'm not an engineer or anyone especially qualified or learned - but, I would like to at least share my own discoveries/experiments/misadventures as a way to give back to the synth/music DIY community. I have been able to learn so much from everyone else who has graciously chosen to share their knowledge freely, and I want to give back a little bit.
